Lincoln's 1st Christmas Present

Lincoln's first Christmas present ...the best gift a boy could get! Sent from his alumni Poppi in Florida!

Yes, Lincoln will have fair opportunity to choose for himself between the two greatest teams: FL & AL. He does have gear for both occasions. I do have a hunch, however, that he will follow Mom's wisdom on this one. (*wink)

Lincoln Grant Barron

Great giver. Warrior. Settlement of land.

Lincoln - a settlement of land near water.
Grant - the king gave rights to establish colonies in the form of a land grant.
Barron - a man of respectability; a stout valiant man; a distinguished military leader who having fought and conquered was rewarded with land.

We knew his name from the very beginning. We heard it a couple years ago and knew we would name our firstborn son, Lincoln. His middle name was a great fit and an honor to his amazing Dad.

It's a BOY

Isn't he so yummy already!?!

18 weeks

After the nauseating first trimester, we were so ready to find out if baby Barron was a boy or girl. We had felt like it was a boy but would be thrilled either way!

The Big Reveal - Father's Day 2009

I found out I was preggers on a Thursday (at work). Because the coming Sunday was Father's Day, I had to hold the news until then! I did spill the beans to Hannah and Ashley.

That weekend, we had plans to travel to Atlanta for my godson's baptism (John Maxwell Marek). After water-skiing all day Saturday, I was quite tired and ready for bed. Sunday came and I woke Grant early and told him I had something special for him. The card read "World's Best Dad"... He was overjoyed!

I was quite impressed with my ability to keep the secret for THREE days!

It was so fun to call my Dad and Grant's Dad that day to give them perhaps one of their favorite Father's Day gifts... news that they would be Grandfathers. Grant's Mom was a riot...so thrilled as she has been waiting to become a Grandmother.

Later that day after the church service, we were celebrating Max's baptism over dinner with the Marek family. During dinner I gave Payton his father's day gift, a baby 'onesy'. As you can see, MOM FLIPPED!
